Billie Cox

Board Member & Business Owner

Billie, originally from Indiana, is the co-owner of Kahawa Java coffee shop in Owensboro, KY. Her journey into community service began at a young age, when she volunteered at a summer camp as a teenager. This experience sparked a deep passion for charitable work that would guide her throughout her life. Motivated by her desire to make a positive impact, Billie pursued a Bachelor of Science in Criminology from Ball State University in Muncie, IN.

After completing her degree, Billie dedicated herself to working in the nonprofit sector. She has spent over 16 years in the field, serving as the Director of a nonprofit community corrections center. In this role, Billie has gained invaluable insight into the efforts of nonprofit organizations to enhance the well-being of individuals and communities. Her work has fostered a deep appreciation for the way nonprofits focus on improving lives, one program at a time.
